Goldwave’s ingenious heavy lifting system creates a breakthrough to turn “impossible mission” to possible solution. In this project, Goldwave design, fabricates and hoists up 5 irregular service decks within extremely compact spacing (from approx. 10-18 meters) from 5th floor to 28th floor to support the construction of a massive concrete transfer slab permanently in place on the 29th floor.

The service decks also serve as safety working platforms for site workers to carry out the remaining works for the transfer slap installation. 5 temporary protection platforms are to be installed as a safety measure to mitigate the risk of falling objects to protect workers during the construction period of service decks.

Offshore Temporary Deep Jet Mixing Steel Platform at G3 Area for Third Runway, HKIA

Followed by the successful delivery of the 1st Offshore Temporary Deep Jet Mixing Steel Platform (1,368 sqm) at F2 Water Channel for the 3rd runway at Hong Kong International Airport in Mar 2021, Goldwave is incredibly proud to have completed the 2nd Offshore Steel Platform (2,781 sqm) at G3 Area in Jan 2022. We were commissioned to accomplish material supply, fabrication, piling, erection of structural steel frame, and the installation of modular decking within a very tight timeframe. The entire project completion time had been significantly reduced safely and efficiently to 70 days.

The biggest challenge of this project was carrying out the offshore work under the huge limitations of road access, working hours, and rigid safety regulations within the airport area. Our key success came from our wreath of people, whose extensive experience in dedicated planning on logistics, construction sequence and methodology covering the whole system, high-quality off-site fabrication control, erection of piping, erection of steel frame, and installation of modular steel decks under such extreme conditions contributed to a great project delivery.

Taiwai Station Property Development (Foundation & Temporary Work)

Along with this vast permanent structure development and bridges interlink construction, the project demanded for substantial scale of temporary platforms, excavation lateral support, and steel ramp to support the construction of new podiums and the basement structure adjacent to the existing rail track of East Rail. Total steel consumption of temporary and permanent works reached 5,000 Tons.

Sheet Piles for Circular Structure

The circular structure was composed of 5,100T of sheet piles of length from 38 to 42 meters. In order to secure high precision in accuracy of the drilling process during fabrication, Goldwave developed its own CNC drilling equipment to accomplish the mission.
